Birmingham Museums is pleased to be part of todayís Give & Gain Day. Approximately 13000 thousand business volunteers; 190 companies; giving over 88,417 hours volunteering, worth in excess of £1 million, are helping hundreds of thousands of people across UK communities.

On Saturday 12 April 2014, Birmingham Museumís heritage sites will reopen once more, giving visitors of all ages the chance to explore and discover more about the regionís incredible cultural history. There are new exhibitions and activities for everyone to enjoy across all of the venues, which include Aston Hall, Blakesley Hall, Sarehole Mill and Soho House

Heritage Lottery Fund awards Birmingham Museums Trust £97,000 grant to purchase Joseph Wright of Derby portrait of Erasmus Darwin

Birmingham Museums Trust has been awarded a grant of £97,000 from the Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) towards the purchase of Joseph Wright of Derbyís superb portrait of Erasmus Darwin. The HLF award means that after 12 months of fundraising, Birmingham Museums Trust has raised the asking price of £275,000 to complete the purchase.
