The Birmingham and Warwickshire Archaeological Society have organised two special lectures on the Staffordshire Hoard that will take place at the Central Library Theatre in Birmingham on February 16th and March 23rd.

Lecture: 'Gold, God and battle, first thoughts on the Staffordshire Hoard', by Kevin Leahy

Tuesday, 16 February 2010 - 1pm

Kevin Leahy, from the Portable Antiquities Scheme, talks about his first thoughts on this amazing find.

Lecture: 'Trusting the ground with the treasure of warriors', by Stephen Dean

Tuesday, 23 March 2010 - 1pm

Stephen Dean, Archaeological Officer for Staffordshire, gives a talk about this incredible find.
