More time to see Birmingham Seen
The Birmingham Seen exhibition has been extended until January 31st due to public popularity. This free exhibition has so far attracted over 13,000 visitors.
This wide ranging exhibition explores the ways in which artists and photographers have portrayed the people and landscape of Birmingham since 1820. The show reflects alternate views of Birmingham and its changing communities in painting, photography and video using Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery’s Fine Art, Topographical and Local History collections as well as significant work from Birmingham Central Library’s National Collection of Photography.
Councillor Martin Mullaney, Cabinet Member for Leisure, Sport and Culture said: “I am delighted that this wonderful exhibition has struck such a chord with both local people and visitors to Birmingham. By extending the run, more people will get to see this entertaining show that brings almost 200 years of the city’s history to life”.
