Join Marta Weiss, Curator of Photographs at the V&A, for a talk which will explore some of the techniques, ranging from photojournalism to staged and digitally manipulated imagery, employed by artists included in the exhibition ‘True to Life? New Photography from the Middle East’.

Dr Marta Weiss joined the V&A in 2007 after two years in the Department of Photographs at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. A native New Yorker, she holds an MA in art history from Princeton University, where she also completed a Ph.D in 19th-century British photography. In 2012, she curated the V&A exhibition 'Light from the Middle East: New Photography' which showcased some of the same work currently displayed in Birmingham's exhibition 'True to Life? New Photography from the Middle East'.
