Fish for some creepy crawlies in the mill pond and examine your catch under the microscope. Sessions are led by the Birmingham and Black Country Wildlife Trust and are free. 12-3.30pm. Limited number of places available, booking advisable; time slots are 12.30, 13.00; 13.30; 14.00;14.30 and 15.00. Ring 0121 348 8160 or email Sarehole.mill@birminghammuseums.org.uk.

Pond dipping equipment (net, tray, magnifying glass and identification sheet) will be provided. Facilitated ideally take place from the dipping platform over the millpond. However, if the water level in the mill pond becomes too low due to dry summer weather, the dipping location might change and move to the river Cole (adjacent to mill carpark). Therefore, please take wellies (just in case they are needed for dipping in the river, for dipping from the dipping platform wellies are not required).

At the end of the session, the catch can be taking to our schoolroom where microscopes are available for close-up examination.

Limited number of children per half hour session - booking advisable. Half hours session from 12.30pm, last session at 3pm.

This Sunday the pond dipping will be led by Birmingham and Black Country Wildlife Trust.
