Come down to the lab and see how the Conservation team do things! Get up close and personal with some Samurai Armour, learn how and why we Xray objects and get a chance to look down the microscopes...

Tours will be at 10.30am, 12pm,2pm and 3.30pm.  Tours last approximately 1 hour.  Please meet at the Vestibule reception and you will be escorted to the Conservation Department.

You can also buy tickets at the Gas Hall Reception at Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery prior to the day.

Please note that any children taking part must be fully supervised by parents/guardians at all times and that we ask that all visitors refrain from touching any objects during the tour.

You will be asked to leave your bags and coats in a secure place before entering the Conservation studios.

Please note:  This tour involves some walking and reaching the Conservation Department via a staircase. If you have Mobility problems, please contact Louise Alden prior to making a booking to discuss access. Email:louise.alden@birminghammuseums.org.uk
