Light from the Shadows was created by artists Charlotte Goodwin and Kate Chapman and is and imaginative journey inspired by the people who wander through Moseley Bog regularly and by the life of JRR Tolkien who played there as a child. Music, voices and stories will open up your imagination as you explore the mill and the bog's spectacular scenery.

9.30 arrival for 10 start at the Museum Collections Centre in Nechells. This is a repeat of our Egyptian Study Day which has proved very popular in past. It is designed for those with little or no knowledge of ancient Egypt. Participants will learn how to interpret evidence from ancient Egypt, have a hands on session with a range of genuine Egyptian artefacts, take a closer look at hieroglyphic writing and end the day with a tour of the Collections centre, focusing on the Egyptian collections. Last year our 'batometers' showed the mill was visited by common pippistrelles and soprano pippistrelles. With the pond restoration finished and bat boxes in place, we hope to hear more bats this year!
