Annual Opening of Birmingham Museum & Art Gallery's collections centre on May 2nd 2011.

One of Britain's largest museum storage facilities is opening its doors to the public on Bank Holiday Monday May 2nd. Visitors will see behind the scenes where Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery stores and looks after its collections.

The 1.5 hectare site, close to Duddeston Station, holds hundreds of thousands of objects. Among the collections are steam engines, sculptures, an entire collection of Austin, Rover and MG motor cars.

A vintage bus service courtesy of Aston Manor Transport Museum will travel between Birmingham (Edmund Street) and the Museum Collections Centre.

Opening Times are 10am - 4.30pm. Admission is free.
