A Tribute to the Burda (Poem of the Cloak)

Birmingham Museum & Art Gallery

Saturday 3 February 2007, 6:30 – 9:30pm

 - Women only event -

The ‘Poem of the Cloak’ or Qasidah Burda, sung everywhere from Morocco to Malaysia, is the inspiration for a new concert created and performed by women in the West Midlands. This is a rare celebration of women’s relationship to this unique poem, produced especially for the Museum.
